Over the years friends and acquaintances who knew I had worked in the University of Missouri's Career Planning and Placement Center while I was an undergraduate have approached me to help them or their children prepare resumes, cover letters and practice for interviews. I spent three years in the Career Planning and Placement Center helping other students put their best foot forward. Then I went to law school and spent the next 28 years empowering my clients to tell their stories and empowering judges and juries to choose my clients and do justice.
After my first multi-million dollar verdict as a trial lawyer, I saw one of my jurors at a local restaurant. She called me over and said, "When you told us to climb to the rooftop of that courthouse and shout out our verdict for everyone to hear...I wanted to jump up out of my chair and cheer! You and your team were excellent from start to finish. Thank you!"
Since then I have known that inspiring others to realize and use their power, empowering others, is what empowers me! And, I realized I could do that much more often by offering interview preparation services. I get so much satisfaction out of doing this work that I offer my services at a lower rate than when I am preparing for trial.
Empowered Interview is the synthesis of my experience as a career specialist all those years ago and decades of honing my craft as a master observer and storyteller in trial. The result is a powerful ability to work with people like you to help you examine your life and work experiences, both good and bad, and get to the core of why you want what you want and why you should get it. When your eyes light up with self-appreciation and awareness and you begin to feel the joy that comes with that new confidence in YOU, you will know the investment in Empowered Interview was worth it!
I have a unique skillset that other resume and interview services cannot match—a skillset perfectly suited to empower you to be the candidate they choose. After working in the Career Planning and Placement Center at the University of Missouri I went to law school. I am a veteran trial lawyer with 28 years of outstanding results representing individuals and small businesses in front of judges and juries in state and federal courts. I have spent tens of thousands of hours assessing, reading, questioning and helping my clients examine their lives to learn their “stories”—preparing them to share the truth and humanity of their experiences while being brutally questioned by opposing lawyers and critically assessed by judges and juries. The results have been phenomenal—verdicts and settlements over $75,000,000 since 1995 against multiple Fortune 500 corporations represented by top law firms from all over the United States.
